The Omnicomplexity Orientation

.

  • Omnicomplexity playbook

The playbook is your invitation into a living field guide. Rather than a fixed set of instructions, it is a way of working with the full mess of modern organisational life. It helps teams move from reactive firefighting toward thoughtful experimentation, rooted in inquiry and real-world consequences.

  • Constellations

Constellations are curated clusters of patterns that work together. Think of them as structures that help teams notice tensions, make meaning together, and shape coherent action over time. Each one offers a distinct way of seeing and responding to your context.

  • Patterns

Patterns are situated responses to recurring tensions. They are portable, adaptable, and rooted in lived experience. Each pattern follows a shared anatomy and carries a clear hypothesis: if we act in this way, under these conditions, these consequences tend to follow.

  • Stances

Stances are how we show up in inquiry. Inspired by the COIN (Community of Inquiry) constellation, they include the Noticer, the Challenger, the Synthesiser and others with each offering a distinct lens and contribution. Unlike roles, stances are fluid and transferable across situations.

  • Foundations

The foundations of Omnicomplexity draw from pragmatism, complexity science, and participatory action inquiry. They remind us that meaning emerges through use, that knowledge is always provisional, and that change is something we do together, not something we impose.
